EDINA RESIDENT LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN FOR MN HOUSE

Edina, MN — Edina resident and business owner Sami Cisman has announced her campaign for MN House District 50A which includes a large portion of the City of Edina and parts of Bloomington. Cisman is the daughter of first generation Somali immigrants, and a lifelong resident of Minnesota. Cisman is the founder of a public relations firm that works closely with small businesses, and has experience working in the behavioral health industry helping Minnesotans with mental health challenges.

“I’m running because I am inspired to fix the challenges we have in Minnesota. I’m ready to get off the sidelines and help the country that has given me so much as someone who was born here to first generation Somali immigrants. I love this country and want to give every Minnesotan the same opportunity for a great education, safe communities, and to secure for themselves the American dream,” Cisman said.

Cisman plans on using her passion to fight for a safer community – bringing back respectful rhetoric and policy that supports law enforcement and victims of crime, and put a stop to the crime wave we have seen take over Edina and Bloomington under the area’s DFL stronghold. Cisman also plans on putting her business background to work, focusing on protecting taxpayers and improving Minnesota’s business climate so we can attract new businesses and create high quality jobs.

“Minnesota is going through a mental health crisis for people of all ages, but especially our children and our communities of color. I’m ready to step up and work to improve mental health services in Minnesota. This includes education, where school districts should support all students by refocusing on excellent academics and keeping politics out of the classroom,” Cisman added.

“The optimistic leader we need to unify our community.”
