Jobs/Economy

We need to be fiscally responsible. My top priorities as representative for Edina and Bloomington will be to lower the barriers for businesses to succeed in our state, seek to lower taxes for our struggling seniors, working families and small businesses, and reduce the burdensome regulations which right now stifle competition, job opportunities, and economic mobility.

Despite recent job growth across the country and in our state, Minnesota’s skills gap is expected to worsen as demand for manufacturing jobs is poised to skyrocket during the next decade. As many as 3.5 million manufacturing jobs will become available as the industry evolves and two million of those jobs are expected to go unfilled due to the skills gap. Rising gas prices and record setting energy costs are creating unbearable burdens for our economy.

When elected, I will work hard to make sure everyone has the opportunity for a better economic future.
